FPL price reveal: How much Erling Haaland, Mo Salah and Martin Odegaard cost in Fantasy Premier League 2023-24

Haaland will command a significant fee next season but Salah’s price tag has dropped despite another strong showing last time out

The good folk at Fantasy Premier League have started to ramp up the anticipation ahead of the game’s renewal for the 2023-24 season by revealing 20 player prices – including last season’s top scorer Erling Haaland.

Manchester City’s points hoover helped himself to numerous records during his debut campaign in English football but didn’t quite manage to top Mo Salah‘s all-time feat of 303 FPL points set in 2017-18, scoring 272 in total. That can be a target for next season, Erling.

Haaland’s goalscoring exploits and generous starting price tag of £11.5m ensured that he quickly became the most popular asset in FPL history with over 80 per cent of managers selecting him in their squads at the peak of his form.

Picking the Norwegian was a no-brainer, but considering he has received a significant price hike up to £14m, FPL bosses now have a bigger decision to make: spend big on Haaland and compromise elsewhere? Or go without and assemble a more competitive squad instead? Decisions, decisions.

Haaland’s international team-mate Martin Odegaard has also jumped in price, from £6.5m up to £8.5m. That valuation still seems generous considering only the three premium big-hitters Haaland, Harry Kane, and Mo Salah outscored Odegaard in FPL last season with the Arsenal captain combining 15 goals with eight assists.

The 20 Fantasy Premier League price reveals in full

  • Martin Odegaard (Arsenal) – £8.5m
  • Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) – £8m
  • Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth) – £5m
  • Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) – £6.5m
  • Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton) – £6.5m
  • Manuel Benson (Burnley) – £5.5m
  • Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea) – £7.5m
  • Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace) – £6.5m
  • Jordan Pickford (Everton) – £4.5m
  • Bernd Leno (Fulham) – £4.5m
  • Mo Salah (Liverpool) – £12.5m
  • Carlton Morris (Luton) – £5.5m
  • Erling Haaland (Man City) – £14m
  • Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd) – £8.5m
  • Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) – £6.5m
  • Morgan Gibbs-White – (Nottingham Forest)
  • Illiman Ndiaye (Sheffield United) – £5.5m
  • Son Heung-min (Tottenham) – £9m
  • Lucas Paqueta (West Ham) – £6m
  • Jose Sa (Wolves) – £5m

With FPL revealing the price tags for only one player per club, managers will have to play a waiting game to find out how much Odegaard’s team-mates Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli will cost given they also provided exceptional value for money last season.

Interestingly Salah, the dethroned king of FPL, has dipped £0.5m in price from £13m to £12.5m, despite amassing over 200 points for the sixth season running. Liverpool’s main man was overshadowed by Haaland but still managed a hugely impressive 19 goals and 13 assists across 37 appearances.

The biggest price faller so far, meanwhile, is Son Heung-min, with the Tottenham midfielder’s price slashed from £12m to £9m. That fee could tempt plenty of people given Spurs are expected to play in a more expansive manner under Ange Postecoglou and have added the creative James Maddison to their ranks.

Another point of interest during FPL’s first price reveal of pre-season was that Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has been reclassifed as a midfielder having previously been listed as a forward.

The Cameroonian, who will cost £6.5m, could be an attractive option now that he will earn an extra point per goal scored. Mbeumo is also likely to be on penalty-taking duty too with Ivan Toney suspended until January.

The first deadline of the 2023-24 season will be on Friday 11 August at 6.30pm before newly-promoted Burnley welcome champions Manchester City to Turf Moor in the curtain raiser.
